Head in the Clouds is a festival by the mass media company 88rising. They are known as a music platform and record label primarily for Asian American and Asian artists. Founder Sean Miyashiro hopes to bridge the gap between Asian and American music. It was difficult back then for Asian artists to make it big in America and with that background, inclusivity is a big part of their identity.

Striving for inclusivity of Asian artists allowing them to grow and to make it to be big stages. Promoting everyone’s freedom of speaking, hearing, and listening.

It comes from a Japanese pictorial maxim called the three wise monkeys embodying the proverb “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. Tends to mean looking the other way, feigning ignorance.

This was a play on the maxim however, as instead of looking the other way, its clouds covering their eyes, ears and mouth — implying the freedom they have respectively. Head in the Clouds is supposed to promote inclusivity and pride. They provide a mix of different genres of music for all to enjoy.
